You know you're too self indulgent when...
James Lileks has a great post on the perils of blogging. Or the internet use in general. I sympathize. As an example, the State of the Union address this Tuesday will be fodder for each side to rocket to new heights of hyperbole.
So buckle your seatbelts, everyone and cinch up your drawstring pajamas, it's going to be a bumpy week!

Perhaps greatness exemplified??
Here is my current favorite, from the site of a blogger with whome I got into a flame war:
"The wisdom and punditry of XXXX X. XXXX,..."
then he goes on to list all his wonderful accomplishments and his political agenda. Bleh.
And he links to a book he wrote, but if you follow the link to Amazon.com, you see two very, very acerbic reviews of his book, and only one good review, and that is from a "true believer" anyway.
PS. Scoot, when you get older, you can change it to "greatness, mummified":-)
Oh, and Scoot. Are you only friendly AFTER we've had that martini in your intro:-)
Alright!
Scott is perhaps one of the finest examples of humanity you will ever encounter.
Good taste, quick wit and an appreciation for culinary expertise.
As for the friendliness...
"Three Olives Vodka, Dirty, Up, please. Oh, and do you deliver?"
I do have a dry bar in my livingroom, BUT, I got banned from mixing drinks at a party once, so I don't know if you really want one of my drinks.
Dear CD, thank you for linking to my blog. I have been afraid to post a comment on yours becasue your blog literally blows mine out of the water. While a link from Instapundit can cause an 'Instalanch' let me be the first to thank you for the Deux Drop. Your humble servant, JL.
Jim,
Anytime...
